Creating and Using Rubrics
Students benefit from access to a rubric while they are working on a project. Knowing the criteria on which they will be assessed is a plus to help them develop, evaluate and tweak their own work prior to submitting it.

Resources
-Rubric for the Critical Area of Mathematics, K - 2
A checklist that teachers could use to assess their students on the topics that have been deemed critical areas for their grade (K – 2). These are not all the topics to be taught, just the ones that should receive the most attention. The document could be used by teachers to record each child’s progress in the critical areas, or as a guide as they modify their instruction to better align to CCSS. PBL Rubric Resources
